Kvennan Fly Fishing – where the season never seems to end
At Kvennan Flyfishing in Glomma, fly fishers can experience world-class grayling fishing well into october.
The fly zone starts at Eidsfossen and is 15 km long. In other words, you can roam freely here. The river is varied, but clear and easy to wade at normal water levels.
This ensures that you have a hugely productive fishing area to draw from. You don't need to fish the same pool two days in a row, even if you spend a week at Kvennan.
Although Kvennan is most famous for large and plentiful grayling, there is no doubt that trout hunters also have something to gain - even though they must expect significantly longer times between each big fish.
There isn't a lot of trout at Kvennan, but it can grow large. Very large. Several specimens weighing 3-5 kg have ended up in the nets in recent years. In practice, all large trout are released back so they can grow even bigger.
Live well, fish well
If you are going to fish at Kvennan Fly Fishing, it's good to know that there are plenty of lodging opportunities in the area.
You can choose Telstad farm, close to Telneset, a very good fishing spot. Telstad farm is a traditional farmstead from the 18th century, perfectly located by the banks of the Glomma river. Telstad also offers activities suitable for those who think about more than just fish and flies.
Kvennan Camping is well-suited for those who have their eyes glued to the river. A three-kilo grayling was caught right outside the campsite, and you can almost fish from the decks of the cabins closest to the river.
