Fall is in the air. For many fly anglers this means time to get out and target grayling. Grayling spawn in the spring, so the only thing they focus on in the fall is to fatten up for winter.
Jon-Erlend Sundnes has recently visited the River Rena on the hunt for trout and grayling, but ended up catching some whitefish.

Many kids love fishing, and some even aspire to pick up the fly rod some day. Fishing for grayling is the perfect start for the up and coming fly angler. A place which is especially well suited for the beginner is Koppangsøyene on the River Glomma in Stor-Elvdal. This area consists of many large and small islands which separates the river into smaller individual runs and fingers. Here is the perfect place to find success as a fresh fly angler.
Fishing guide Edward Scholten from Koppang Camping brought along his 12 year old nephew recently. Within a short time he had caught his very first fish.

He went on to catch many more and lost just about as many. This evening gave him an experience he is not likely to forget.
